1990 Model Year US Spec 944 Turbo Cars
Among the many spares and nic-nacks that came with my 89 Turbo, I stumbled across a book written in German (I'll post author's name once I get home today) that is a technical and production history of the 924-944-968 line. Cool pix, for sure.
But reading his tables (not really reading in German but following the table) I was somewhat surprised to see him list 100+ 1990 model year 944 Turbo cars produced to US spec. Anybody on the list ever heard of these cars?

There were 47 made, Canada got 40, 7 were purchased via Fly and Drive. Some were returned to Germany. The US recieved none, There were a few 1991s but none for North America, seems they were using parts up as they seem to be right hand drives mostly. ROW
I got #43 of the 47. I tried to post a lot of info but it was dropped or went to neverland. Mine is the only one sold by the Dealer here in Calgary. It was $71,000.00 in 1990 (L Production)
I have douments from PCNA and Germany with the Production figures, etc Brochures.

Sounds to me as though these US 1990 944 Turbos were in fact those few built for the Canadian market.
Porsche often refers to "US spec" and "PCNA" as synonymous terms.

The rear wing was standard. They put them on the 90 951 but not on the 90 S2 they then added them to the 91 S2 and the 968s.
The one on Ebay has an I in the serial number making it a 87 unless the letter is a L? Has he mis read the serial?
