Complete list of heat shields
Hi all, does anyone have a comprehensive listing (pix are even better) of all the heat shields that should be on a Turbo S? I bought a car that had a good PPI with notation that only the belly pan (batwing) was missing. Now wondering if any of the heat shields were also left off during one of the services.

You mean that no one on Rennlist can jot down the heat shields on a Turbo S for a novice who cares? I thought this was the best P-car forum anywhere!!!

That would take a long time to make, there must be 15 or 20 shields. Your best bet is to get the PET (the software the dealership uses to look up parts). It is commonly available on ebay, or maybe some lister has a copy....

There are a crap load of heat sheilds, do you really want an entire list ? or do you want to know how many belly pans there are ?
Batwing is under front bumper, then plastic/fiberglass type pan next, then an aluminum pan last.
Welcome to Rennlist,

Schmedes1 welcome pal. PM me anytime for advice. My box is always open. The batwing was probably warped from all the scrapes. Like mine was! because that was removed does not mean the heat shields in the bay would have been removed.

Lets see:
1 aluminum pan behind the bat wing
2 motor mount shields
1 starter heat shield
1 master cylinder heat shield
2 piece shield for the oil filter housing area
There are tons more, I have a box full of them at the house. Seems like every part on the car is covered by some heat shield (I have determined that Porsche was in bed with some heat shield manufacturer). FWIW, some of them are quite expensive. If you identify which ones you need you are welcome to buy mine, I am not using them.

The batwings are hard to come by used, a lot of use the splitter from www.americaninternationalracing.com which also takes the place of the batwing. About $280

Pics of HS
schmedes1
From the left at the top of the Rt. side of engine protects wire harness for sensors
that pass over Eng. from fire wall to front of car also protects the oil line from turbo to banjo.
Then sm. bracket that holds the two HS shields,( at the very bottom of pic almost the same size) to the Eng. block .
At the 12:00 position is the HS for the steering shaft the passes very close to the crossover pipe to the turbo.
Sadly I have e shot of them on the car as well but I have ti size them in Photoshop and I am buried now and cant do it till Tues. ....
If you still need them let me know Hope this helps
