Rolex - I REALLY want you to come up and dyno with me, man. I'll make all the arrangements.
Right up 84 to Danbury. Send me a PM, if you are interested.
I have a couple of other big dogs coming - one is a new GT3 that I heve been dying to see tested on a real dyno.

To address the drive train part of the question –
Use the transaxle out of a 931. Significantly stronger and it will use 911 gear sets so you can set it up the right way for you r application (track/street/drag).

Special Tool:

Thanks for the invite pal! Maybe I will take you up on it. I know where you live, not that far of a drive. But right now, my car isn't done yet. Please click on my link under my sig for my home page. All my information is there. In the meantime, how about posting your dyno chart/s for "everyone" to see? I am sure we are all dying to see these results; from a graphical perspective. I know I am!

Chris:

Thank you for jumping in and giving everyone the advice on the drivetrain concern. It's much appreciated!

People love to throw HP labels on gearboxes, but it really comes down to usage style. I haven’t had any problems on a stock turbo transaxle running 370rwhp with lots of track time – but I am nice to the drive train.
The 931 transaxle is based on a lot of 911 components and it should be quite a bit stronger. I know of a couple of GT3 club racers that have made the conversion. For racing the changeable gear ratios are a big deal.. The ring a pinion does not suffer the same problem as the stock box.
I have one sitting in the corner of the shop waiting for the right time…

To answer the question with a ‘non-answer’ – I would guess that the 931 box can handle 50% greater output than the stock unit.

A friend of mine claims to have had a 911 box (G50, maybe?) in an S2 that he owned. Is this possible, and if so, is this the solution?

Sorry, just wanted to throw that out there.

Chris,
What parts are required to change over to a 931 box ?

Thanks
