Yes those Jags and Nissans etc were nasty cars. I liked the nissan body shape so much I tracked down the guys that bought the molds and actually considered building one of those things. I got smart (I think) and bought a pantera instead. Yes 200 mph through downtown miami gave me the chills for sure just watching. I got the PM and thanks. I was really curious about this fellow building a 750 hp 944. Like I said these guys could do it no problem. Guess he must have had a race trans in mind.
My car is so nice I really dont want to screw around with it too much. Maybe just bump it a little. I may end up doing a ground up on another 951. There are a ton of 944/951's down here. I live about 5 miles from Champion Porsche.
Also no way would I even consider driving a 600hp 944 without a roll cage of some sort. Actually I dont know if the body could even take that much power without a cage. It would probably pop the sunroof.

Cool, give Scott a call then! He is your man
However, SFR and Vitesse will be able to get you some really reliable high HP application. Have a look at the thread Special Tool just started. Over 400WHP for a few thousand bucks. Amazing...

You compared building engines and which was the most powerful, since when do bolt ons "build" and engine???
Please adress the topic of the thread correctly, building engines is com-pletely different than bolting on performance parts!!!

Ok, so www.jmengines.com for parts like intakes and heads and cams.
I would not want 530whp, the drive train would suffer too much for me.
I would want a safe 400whp preferably, and as Vitesse and Special Tool have proven, a turbo bolt-on kit and a cam is enough, and at lower levels than 25psi. WHat was the last run? 435WHP @ 25psi? and had full boost at just over 3,000rpm. Unheard of performance for the spool. This proves you dont need to spend $15,000 building an engine to get that performance safely.

My advice to you is to delete that post of youres and post it on the other thread, this is not the thread for this.
If you know or have any recommendations for building a ultra hi-performance 944 engine, then let us know. Otherwise, keep you're kis-assing uneccessaary **** to you're self.

Building mucho HP is the easy part, well kind of, but my original post intent was more about the rest of the drive train and if there was something out there that could actually live a semi normal life at 600-700 hp. That is even over the top for a 928 drive train. Cars like my Pantera that I just sold, are better set up for high horsepower. Zf transaxle and bolt on some spicer axles and some major body bracing and or a cage and you are good to go up to 800+. There are a few Panteras running around with 800-1200 hp. 930 turbos also have a more suited trans, but I am getting off subject, sorry.
At any rate whats a good drive train. Race or would a 968 turbo drive train do ?? Probably impossible to find either though.

tammons : Talk to the "builders" for this (JME, Area 951, Chris White etc) since they build the high hp engines, they should have something from the drive train.
I also asked a certain vendor about transmissions, axles, CV's and high power applications.....i can say (overall) that it is mostly the street cars that have issues, i didn't come across a track car (built by such vendors) that broke anything in the drivetrain system (to my knowladge).
