masterful shifting indeed! i can't do the heel-toe thing what with the position of the brake pedal and throttle, i've seen some 951 with a block of wood attached to the throttle to raise its relative postion to the brake...has anyone tried this?

He does an awesome job correcting .... That a 911 not a friendly 951 ....
Funny I never down shifted sequentially, I really don't understand the benefit ?
Someone please enlighten me ...
Is it done, so that the car is always in the power range ?
When I have to go from 4th to 2nd, I do my heavy breaking/ neutral/ blip to matching rpms then / down shift in the lower gear ( 2nd ) .... and I am ready to take my power through the apex, onward ..
I have to say I watched that about 5-6 times .. It got my adrenaline flowing let me tell ya ...
What so amazing is that the car seems to normally aspirated, which makes it a whole lot simpler( overstated ) to drive ( no boost blow out in the middle of the turn ). That must be a blast to drive.
That was in one word AMAZING !!
Thanks for posting it rhesus!!

Maybe the reason for sequential shifting is to keep the shifting as straight forward as possible. You blip the throttle and brake with the same timing each and every time. There is a video of a pro driver in a M3 GTR running the Nurburgring and he is sequentially shifting every time too.

I see what you mean but to have to do that shifting 3 times before a sharp turn is a bit exciting to say the least...
I must say, also its probably real nice to have a seat that really holds you ... My SRD really is not aggressive enough... ( but for a duel propose car it tough to justify that seat, as it would be very restrictive )

The sequential shifting aids in keeping your rythme. You can see going into the hair pin there is quite a bit of shifting. I have found that trying to stay on the brakes and putting the car straight into 2nd gear towards the end of braking for the hair pin is very very awkward. The remainder of the track in the 951 is 3rd and 4th gear for me.
