(Port) water injection. That should keep you busy for awhile. Actually it is a good foundation for more HP, at the very will least allow you to run better ignition timing and not rely on excess fuel for cooling.

A hotter cam may gain some HP, but will cut down on the much needed pre-boost low-end torque. There are good simulation software, such as the various versions of “Engine Analyzer” from Performance Trends, which should easily be able to show the performance difference between two cams. A good cam manufacturer should have such information available.

Oh yeah, and a vacuum manifold. I do have a 4-port available for you, PM sent.

Chen, (now that I am here) multiply by .0254 (50 thou = 1.27 mm)

Hi Laust,
OT question, are you using an SPDT switch on
the O2 sensor ? Do you find any diff between
running in close & open loop ?

Isn't the guy that did your exhaust in Algonquin? I might have him do mine and sell my testpipe if that's the case.

I am leaning towards the SFR IC. That would allow a stealth place to mount a pump for the WI later as well. I dont know if I would be able to make a port system myself!

I'm with Laust on the water injection idea, which need not necessarily be expensive. Check the archives in Autospeed online magazine for further info, also in the ANZAC part of the world.

This idea could help avoid of the evaporative-cooling-via-enriched-mixture and over-leaning issues, if done correctly. I have no personal experience or expertise with this, but have read that some folks use a small waterpump adapted from car windshield washer use, as well as the windshield washer water reservoir and fluid--they inject decent quality water/alcohol mix sold inexpensively for windsheild washer use, reportedly will no ill effects.

Yeah, I voted H2O injection too. And the blue washerfluid is perfect for it. Its distilled/filtered water, so it won't corrode the components as bad, already contains alcohol (for antifreeze purposes) and if anyone is following when you have it running, they'll get a strong smell similar to candle wax, due to the detergents. Plus refill fluid is available at every gas station for about a $1/gallon (in the US at least).

DIY Water Injection sites:

Unless you're daring, it makes more sense to get a high pressure pump and leave the tank unpressurized. A little more expensive, but less prone to failure.

A good, reliable system could easily be built for $100 or less (maybe MUCH less depending on how elaborate the system and the quality of components chosen).
