Default Colorado emissions

I have to go in and have the government smell my exhaust as soon as I get my car back together. What im wondering is, does anyone have a friend in the emissions business or does anyone have a cat around that I could bolt up and take the test and give back for 50$ for the trouble?

have you thought about registering the car up in larimer county (fort collins)? I believe they are doing away with emissions up here; or at the very least have low standards.

patrat, I think that I would have to have a residential address in the county to do that.

I heard pretty much everyone passes Envirotest, you could try it as-is, you get a retest if you fail.

You should give it a try as is. I too have been very curious about the emissions test on a modified car and I would bet that a well-tuned 951 would pass. Even if you don't pass, like Joel said, you can retest and you are only out $25. If you don't pass, I'll buy you a case of Fat Tire for your trouble...

Brett, I really doubt that they will put your car on lift to see if it has a cat. I have been to the local testing site ( Kipling and C-470 ) several times now and do not recall even seeing a lift in there. If they ask, just assure them that you are positive that there is a cat hiding under there. I will need to have my car tested this fall, I am hoping to have a 3" exhaust on there by then and am not sure whether to install a cat or not. C'mon, go for it!
