Ok i just finished replacing the cam tower gasket and I know there's no problem there. The rear cam seal is also ok. And yet I have persistent oil smoke coming from below the exhaust manifold. Where could it be leaking?

the oil pan gasket could be leaking and dripping oil as well.....i had this problem. try checking that as well. i forget what it is, but there is a "probe" tube that goes down to that part of the manifold, [dont remember, havent been under my car in a long time] the oild was dripping onto it, and going to the manifold and then burning...

Whew. Just took the car for an extended drive and got everything really hot. After fifteen minutes or so most of the smoke disappeared. Just had to burn off. You can understand my frustration after being five minutes from "done" at two o'clock and then dropping a washer behind the timing belt! That cost me another 2.5 hours getting the damn thing out. Wow I'm tired.
I also managed to sort the idle problems - it was a vacuum issue. Now the car is boosting like it should. Wheelspin in 3rd gear is really cool. And flooring at 30mph in 2nd is suicide, holy crap! I like it!
