Tim, if the air is charged against the bottom of the valve, shouldn't the vacuum/boost line create the same pressure on the opposite side of the valve?



Yes.However, the charge air could force the valve to open prematurely this way.If the charge air is coming in from the side(like the stock unit) it cannot open the valve.
