Yes I have removed my headlight stopper. I am told its to stop the headlight from tiliting at very high speeds. Well, I cant legally go over 100 on the road here and would not speed at night. So I have no ill effects. I cant recall anyone else saying they have either, and I would think lots have done it. I used an angle grinder. Not the most pretty but effective! I painted the cut afterwards as well... in case it rusted.
Thanks for the info NZ.
I will grind off the stopper also.
And make a panel in a few weeks out of lexan.
Small projects like this are always fun to do.
I will post pics.

Good stuff Edman.

Make sure you check out the interation with the turbo water pump cooling in place. Mine is gone and I cant remember if it will influence how the panel will sit and its design etc.

Obviously put a blanket over your engine and paint when you grnd! Lots of sparks....

Lets not name it till someone else uses the design! lol

Will do. The stuff I have is from 1/16 to 1/2 inch thick. I think I will stay with the 1/16 or 1/8".

No, they just cut off the bracket on the back. If you open your hood and look behind the headlight there is a triangular piece that stops the headlight from opening at high speeds. There is one on each side so you can cut one off and get away with it. That is to open up for some room for the filter.

Right, we went metric in the 80's but it is hard to loose the English in us.

Were do you think we got the this crazy system from. When we buy tools in the US, they come in English and metric sizes.

"Imperial units are the measurement units that were historically used in the British Commonwealth countries. They were very similar, but not identical, to the units that are still predominantly used in the United States."
