Turbo Cup sway bars
Anyone know where I can get my hands on a rear turbo cup sway bar? It's 21 or 22mm 3-way adjustable.
No, not the M030 19mm 3-way, but the sway bar from the racing series.
Thanks,
-Z.

I believe it was only available for the turbo cup cars that ran in Canada, maybe in Europe too.
I prefer Porsche OEM products, and that's why I'd rather have the turbo cup sway instead of the Welt unit.
I know they exsist - I have seen one on my friends 944S2. It is the holy grail of 944 sway bars.

What, pray tell, are tarret bars?? I know not of which you speak.
The only non-stock piece of suspension I have on my car is the 968 M030 19mm 3-way adjustable rear sway bar.

The only place I've seen the turbo cup bar advertised was on www.schatzmotorsport.com. They don't have it listed on their website anymore, but they have a lot of other factory motorsport suspension pieces. I would assmume they would know if they're available anymore.

The "turbo cup" rear swaybar is a 21mm solid, 3 way adjustable bar. These were used on all the turbo cup cars, escort cars, firehawk/clubsports etc.
I have seen them with either rubber bushings or white plastic bushings. I had originally assumed that the white plastic was what came on all the motorsport cars, but I bought one last year that came off an original US spec Escort car and it had rubber bushings. Both types of bushings have porsche part numbers on them. I would be curious what type of bushings cup car/club sport owners have on their cars.
My assessment is that the 21mm bar is stiffer in the full soft position, than the 968 M030 19mm bar in the full stiff position.
I am pretty sure you will have a hard time finding one now through an official source. I spoke with PMNA looking for one in spring of '99 and they did not have any in North America, and there was one bar in inventory at the motorsports division in Germany. I recall it was about $580 plus shipping from Germany at the time. I thought it would be interesting to own the "last one" but couldnt justify the price at the time.
