Default Turbo choices

I am going to buy a new turbo on monday and I need a little advice on which set up to go with. After searching the forum these are my ideas:

To4e 54,
To4e 57
To4e 60
Super 50 All of these would have stage 3 wheel and #8 hotside

The other option that Im not sure would work or not is the ATP gt-30 with a T3 inlet and 4 bolt 3" discharge. Would this config work?? I have the SFR 3" downpipe but would the hotside mate with the crossover??

All opinions welcome, I am only going to buy this part once and got the fiance to agree with me so the time is now, I just want to get the best turbo available.
Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure that the 57 wil give you really good mid-range power, better for a street car.

Anybody else?

In this thread everyone raved about a t04e 46 w/ stage3 turbine wheel...just another option I guess. Definately the way I will go if I dont get a used turbo from someone else...

I've got a Turbonetics T04E w/ 50 trim compressor wheel and #8 hotside w/ stage 3 turbine wheel for sale. Turbonetics use a 10 blade turbine wheel design compared to the 11 blade Garrett design.

My turbo builder recommended me this turbo configuration and claimed that it would be the "best all around" street turbo for the 951's displacement - quick spooling w/ fat power band. He runs this exact turbo on 2.4L engines at 25lbs of boost and makes 490whp and 490 lbft - unbelieveable!! I've seen it with my own eyes!!

If you compare the GT30R compressor map with the 50 trim, you'll see that the 951 load points (6500rpm, 85% Ve) will land on VERY similar areas of efficiency - the biggest difference being that the GT30R compressor is more efficient past 25 psi of boost.

Check it out - I'm looking for $875.00

Sorry for the hijack - good luck turbo hunting.

Vic

Gonna need a bigger turbo baby!!

Pauerman: Sorry if this is a little OT but looking closely is the centre section a T3 or a 3K?

I am asking because the centre section lookes squared, maybe the camera angle?

PS: DOes you're friend run this on a Ford (just asking!)

Looks pretty sweet Bret. I have a 60-1 with a stage 3 wheel and replica #8. Its a hell of a turbo but needs 18psi to really get going.
