Not true. Some of the 944 guys are catching on. Tim from sfr sells a similar turbo now. Also LR has the super series. There using a 61mm based wheel. I'm not sure if Johns turbo's are similar but there performance is very good. I'm not sure that they configure them the same way that I did but with the help of there distributors I'm sure that they are pretty close. Or will be soon.

I get your point NZ but some Kokeln turbos are housed in a #6 housing with a stage 5 wheel. In this case spoolup would be better than a stage 3 in a #8 housing. He just has to know witch housing he is getting.

Stage 5 in #6 housing would create a lot of backpressure, it wouldn't spool faster than the stage 3 #8 it would more/less spool the same and probably wouldn't handle future upgrades
I doubt that they use a #6 hotside but can't say for sure, i know they use the #8 for their stage 5 for sure though.

John when a housing is change to a smaller one velocity increases. The #8 housing with a stage 3 wheel will be very close to a #6 housing stage 5 wheel. The velocity increase of the #6 housing will propel the turbine quicker giving it a slight edge over the #8 even when a smaller wheel is used in the #8. If you do not agree that's fine. This is my experience thanks.

Jimbo, have you actually tested #6 with Stage 5 against a #8 with stage 3.. Or is it just "theory"????
