Turbo choices

I have tested a few turbos on friends cars and came up with a very good combo. You want me to give it away just like that. All of my hard work and money so your car can put out as much hp as mine. OK!

The Kokeln stage five was designed for a 2.5. I hear it's a decent turbo. Based on a 60-1 hifi with #8 hotside and stage 5 turbine. The center section is oil cooled only. The turbo is good for 330 to 340 whp at about 1.2 bar. On 94 octane pump gas and a tite motor.

I see one for sale for a good price, I heard they spool up fast on the street.

The stage 5 wheel is too big for the 2.5 IMO on a 60-1HIFI.

Jimbo,
I'm really suspicious on your claim of 1 bar at 3200 rpm.
with a T4 turbine, you would have to use a very small AR
hot housing & even if your claim is true, the side effect
would be that you will only be able to harness 60-70 %
of the compressors overall flow.

NZ I disagree. The Kokeln is a track turbo designed by a race company. The stage 5 is better at track duty than a stage 3. Higher HP potential for the long straits with minimal increase in lag. The stage 3 is better for a street car.
J chen if you look at the t4 turbines some of them are smaller than t3's. It's a mater of getting the right turbine for a particular housing. If one doesn't suit your needs you can modify it just like a compressor wheel. Clipping is allowed as long as you know what your doing and bench flow for efficiency. Most turbo companys try to sell you off the shelf parts. But if you have inside help a custom tailored turbo can be built. How do you think races are won and lost. Remember that turbo companies compete against each other. If they all sold the same products the NHRA racers would be on even ground.
