I should qualify that in my set up only the spring centered disc was Centerforce. The pressure plate was SACHS.

I'm not confident it'll stand up to the output of my 3.0L, so I'm lookin' to sell.

It comes with a modified cup clutch disc that has separate pucks on one side and a solid face on the other - hence the name dual friction.

Centerforce dealer told me this is a great street clutch for commonly modded 951's - offering greater clamping force without increasing pedal effort. I was advised that it's not a good choice if you're looking for a drag racing style clutch.

I'd like to sell this - anyone interested for $750.00?

Pauerman:

I might be very interested come Monday or Tuesday, depending on the results of my clutch problem.

I was gonna ask if you still had it, but figured you sold it already.

Centerforce modifies a stock Sachs pressure plate and Cup clutch disc.

They install the flyweights and adjust the fulcrum point on the fingers of the plate. This is how Centerforce accomplishes the extra clamping force without a noticeable increase in pedal effort. This is how the tech at Centerforce explained it to me.

The dual friction option uses a Cup disc that's set up with a segmented puck surface on the engine side of the disc and the transmission side has the standard solid face.

This kit includes the clutch disc - it's covered by the packaging paper.

dougoh,
A little warning on the center force DUAL FRICTION (puck style) clutch, yes it will handle gobs of power but you will sacrifice driveability. This is a very sticky clutch, due to the material and puck style disc. I did not like it for day to day driving because of the the clutch chatter during downshifts to third and second gear. I put about 2,500 miles on it before I replaced it with a sport clutch disc, OEM turbo pressure plate and a Fidenza aluminum flywheel (Total $965.00). This set up will handle up to 400 rwhp with the feel of a stock pedal, Tony G had the same set up on his red car. You can take it one step further and get the aluminum pressure plate but will cost you some $$$$. As you all know replacing the clutch on our cars is probably the most time consuming project next to a motor change, i did it twice in a 6 month period "OUCH".... so if your going to do this, get the right set up for your type of driving and power needs.

P.S. I have a lightened flywheel and the centerforce pressure plate for sale, if your interested.

WIOR (work is over rated)

wior
thanks for the tip...after researching a little i decided to go with a spec stage 3 w/fidanza light weight flywheel...the car is strictly track w/very little street use...i decided to go with this set up due to the amount of power i plan on having after my turbo swap and map kit
