Default High Oil Pressure?

Ok recently my car has not gotten to normal oil pressure of bettween 3 and 3.5 on the guage. Now it is constatnly running at high 4's nearing 5's even after 40 minutes of driving. Right now it is like -15 outside so i dont know if that is affecting anything, but even when its +2 it does the same thing. Any suggestions? Could it be my oil pressure releif valve? If it is where is it located and how should i change/fix it?

Thnkx

Could just be your engine is not getting warm enough to meet spec or your OPRV is acting up. If yours is an 86 951 the 3-piece OPRV seem to give people trouble. I replaced mine with the 1-piece OPRV last weekend after problems with no OP at start-up and pegged OP at cruise. It acts very normal now. Do a searh for high oil pressure symptoms.
