How do i find out what injectors i need?
#46
I got this from Danno on his Forums. Apparently, there appears to be varying current load based on injector duty cycle; hence, the statement of WOT (highest duty cycle).

Konstantin, yes you do need to have ballast resistors to use the low-impedance 2,5-ohm injectors. While you can use them without, the lower impedance would force your DME to deliver twice as much current. This gets more troublesome as you get into the higher-duty cycles above 50% because there's less OFF time for the driver transistors to cool. On a street car that seldom sees much full-throttle runs, that may be OK. But on a car that is on the racetrack or autobahn with lots of full-throttle usage, you definitely need to have the ballast resistors.
BTW- What's the part# on the 993TT injectors? "

Come on Hossy, let it go. It's not worth letting this get started. He's doing pretty well not taking the bait. He wasn't inflammatory, or even nasty, just made his point known. Might just be worth giving him a break on this one. Regardless of the past, he is allowed to say what he said, whether we agree or not. Cheers fellas.

Just making a clear point that LR isn't the only one recommending not using resistors, but they are the only ones having that info on their website......

A mistake than any human would do, and i even apologized for it.......
I think you are the one who should let it go.........we all know what happened with you and certain vendors.

Anyways... converse to one tuners information, the Delphi injectors have a diffusion 6 port plate in them which give a much greater spray angle over the Siemens versions in the same size. If I was to buy another set I would go for Delphi over the Siemens I have for that reason alone.
