How do i find out what injectors i need?
I am considering replacing my stock turbo with one that will make more torque and hp. I am shooting for the 300 to 320whp range. Are there different types of injectors or are they all the same and they just flow different rates? Is there somewhere that is a step by step. I think I will need something like 55# injectors but can i grab 55# injectors that are on a ford or is it Pcar only?
I need the fuel injectors for dummies book.

all of the above carry 55# injectors. Many people support a 1 ohm resistor for each set of injectors so that the injector driver board thinks it's seeing a factory resistance. Don't forget an AFPR. You know if you buy a kit from Lindsey or Vitesse...it's done for you.

Bret: Maybe you could help me in understanding this. I believed that the only "drop in" injectors would be the Siemens and/or Bosch, any other brand would require resistors (depending really on the brand).
LR supply the Siemens injectors rated 2.8ohm @ 3 bar
Race Tronix supply the Siemens injectors rates 2.35 Ohms
So.....when do you need resistors exactly?

I am pretty sure stock injectors are rated at 5.5 ohms. Going with resistors will surely work, but it has been proven as well that the Siemens high impedance (12 ohm) injectors work as well with our applications.

I have the Siemens 850cc injectors with resistors Link made from them. Dave Lindsey says you dont need resistors, that its a "myth", I took the electical engineers advice at Link and got them though.. Racetronix have the cheapest injectros in town... circa $57 each. You wont get a set cheaper than $400 from LR. Sorry Hosrom!

Heck several rennlsiters as well are "dropping in" Siemens injectors without resistors....
Why are you picking on ONE vendor and calling it a myth???? because you had a bad experience with them and start picking on them???
I asked a question regarding resistors and INJECTOR brand and you ended with a VENDOR claiming this and that...what the hell??

Hosrom - Vitesse sends out resistors with his injectors.
You don't "need" them, but you don't need a safety line washing the windows on the Sears tower, either.
You are overworking your driver without them, period.

Special Tool: Are they Siemens injectors?
I came across several posts regarding not using resistors with Siemens injectors and Vitesse confirms this numerous times.

Oh??????
Okay, maybe i screwed up somewhere
But why do you need resistors? stock Bosch are rated 4.5 ohms (Clarks-Garage), lower rated injectors (2.8 ohms) would need resistors?????)(talking Siemens and Bosch injectors)

There are plenty of guys/tuners out there who run without resistors. Technodyne also didn't run them on their track or street cars and never had a problem. My perspective is......can you run with out them? Yes. Will it be a problem? Maybe, maybe not. Will it hurt to run them? No. Is saving a few bucks worth the possibility of frying and replacing the DME drivers? Not in a million years.

Jeremy: Do you have a pic showing where the resistors are placed???
Seriously, i was ALWAYS under the impression that Siemens or Bosch MUST be run without resistors, and when i came across the LR website, it SEEMED to confrim this....untill reading this now.....
NZ: Guess i owe you an apology on resistors, but NOt for LR though
