Default Change of situation... help needed

I posted a week ago on how when the car was cold and i tried to drive it i would get a screeching noise and it was the belt rubbing the housing or whatever ill fix it soon. Well yesterday i had the defrost going and the car was warm as hell and it was still screeching.... turned the defrost off.... screeching goes away. Defrost on = screeching noise when driving...... defrost off = no screeching

hmmmmmmmmmmm?

Thanx, Mark

Sounds like your AC Compressor clutch is going, or maybe the belt is loose and slipping? Does the AC work?

Your car is ruined. The expense to repair will be extraordinary, but I will buy it from you for $500.

Sure sounds like the A/C belt to me too.

When you say defrost on, you mean the defrost button on the climate control? If so, that turns the A/C on, and would make this guess even more plausible.

It is more correctly referred to as the A/C – Alternator belt, hence the squealing under heavy electrical and A/C load.
Retention it from below – but make sure you loosen all the A/C mounting bolts before cranking of the tensioner rod.

Yep. A/C belt. Adjust the tensioner. I forget the exact tensioning spec. off the top of my head but for some reason I want to say it's 90 lbs.

You're probably right on the 85.
