2 bar absolute pressure = 1 bar of boost.

Well, if you are trying to find that out, the answer is no. It will only read to 1 bar of boost.
Even if you yell at it, spank it, threaten it, slap it upside the head or give it a time out.... it will only give you 1 bar.

Lutjen: You are a perfect candidate for me to ask this question:

When you set 20+psi boost on the dyno, you were (obviously) using an aftermarket boost gauge....but where was the needle on the stock boost gauge at 20+psi boost?

That is what i am trying to find out.....

If it works the same as other VDO gauges it stops at the end mark.

Where is the end mark........does it stop at 2bar, or does the needle go insane and goes way over 2bar........

Thing is, it was reading ~1.9bar and drops to 1.7 or so on redline.........

Now, it reads 2+bar and got a fuel cut-out on 4th gear.........

Intake was off, cleaned (along with TB) new intake hoses (venturi delete) cleaned ISV........and a vacuum manifold installed...........

I have a feeling that i plugged my ISV backwards (no control on idle as we speak) and causes 'extra' air to be forced in (thus more boost)........... hate to take off the intake for teh 3rd time this week!!!

Hooking up the boost gauge takes little time to do and would answer your question.

Sounds exactly like my issue... I am sure you can remember the story.

Wilson - that was funny.

Hosrom - it stops at 2 bar, which is 1 bar of boost.

I just actually got and installed a Euro 968 cluster with a 300 kph speedo and NO stupid, useless factory boost guage.

Answers in advance - yes, the 968 clusters plug in exactly the same way, and should not take any more than 20 minutes to install, start to finish. And yes, it has all kinds of cool German writing and lights and stuff.

Sweanders: I have no place to mount the gauge and it would be a pain to hook it up and leave it 'there', even for testing (my opinion)

Andy: Boost is fixed and it was MY fault because of an old vacuum line for the CV that broke off and i didn't notice (you try working in an appartment complex with no garage and late at night! ). The LR hoses were as good as new!

Special Tool: Stops at 2bar? hmmm.......i was getting over that and got this massive shutdown (over-boost protection)........i was asking because as i said, you run 20+psi and what did that factory gauge reads at THAT boost level (now i know, thnx!)

I also read an article on the Porwerhaus 968 Turbo that used the 951 cluster panel (without mods), i guess it could be the the other way around (as you mentioned)
