Lindsey Super 75: It keeps pulling and pulling and pulling...
Well, she is in and back on the street.
I am very happy with this turbo. Especially to get rid of the frankenstien I had in there.
SInce my old one had a bigger comprerssor but the small hotside, I was getting a good bit of backpressure and there for not seeing full boost till about 3,600-3,800, so yes with the 75 there is a bit more lag, but not much more then I was already used to. I see full boost about 3,800-4,000.
But the damn things pulls into redline!!!
My old one made and held 18psi to redline even with the #6 hotside, but you could feel the "pull" falling off in the high revs. Due to all the heat.
With the Super 75, I have to watch my tach now and can't just shift when I feel the momentum falling off as I will be deep into redline
Now, I just gotta get that MAF/injectors in there and should wake it up even more and cut back some of the lag. But she was down for so long I am too scared to crack into it again until I get some good drive time and "break in".
Would love to have it all done for Rolex, but also do not want it stuck in the garage or just running like crap in case I have problems tuning during Rolex either. Catch 22!!!
I am only running about 16psi and it pulls harder then the old turbo at 18psi.
I need to find out from Dave what the specs are on those, i.e. trim, a/r etc.
And can that be figured out from the specs on the site? 67mm compressor wheel with #8 hotside in the TO4E housing???

Very happy to hear that. Sounds like you are very happy and that turbo really pulls? I would be interested to know, as you said, is it a # 8 or #10 hotside..

Jeff: ALL LR turbochargers are bolt on usingh KKK hotsides, they are standard thrust bearings and have the water cooling option (no extra charge) and come with NEW fittings, ball bearing option is also available but $400 extra

OK, Hos, thanks.
I will turn it back to 1 BAR and re test. I usually do a 3rd or 4th gear run. I am running MBC, reliaboost.
Internals???

It wasn't as bolt up as I thought. My shop had to do some fabrication to get her in there. They are actually sending Dave an email to let him know what all they did.

Thanks for your time toddK....
Internals of the hotside...........you can have a #8 housing, but what is the hotside (turbin) fan? it could be a #6 fan, or a turbonetics stage 2, 3 or 5 even........or a plain simple #8 fan as well......
BIIIG effects on spool and response of the turbocharger....

WOW that spool rpm is really bad! That must suck having full boost around 4,000. How do you know its backpressure making the spool so bad? Have you measured it?

toddk911: Keep us posted with that Super 75, kool!
NZ951: May I kindly ask as to why you are starting to bash, yet again, Lindsey Racing? Todd started this thread to express his satisfcation with his turbo. He is very happy and wanted to tell everyone. And I'm very happy for him too!Yet, you feel compelled to jump in this thread and lash out again? When are you ever going to ever learn and mature? How many chances will Rennlist give you? Is this behavior necessary and helpful to anyone? Honestly?

I made a comment that around 4K rpm being a poor spool up time (which it is). I would do that no matter what the turbo. So stop trying to incite a flame war (why YOU got banned the last time remember?) and PM me any issues you have, or post technical information. In addition, report the post to a moderator if you feel it applies to any charter rules, please do that so they can judge for themselves.
