It is true that changing to MAF or MAP does reduce spool.
This is the first thing I'd notice when I replaced my AFM
with the Huntley Stage III MAF running on stock boost.
Why is it so ? I reason that the AFM takes time to react
to differential pressure. Keeping in mind that the J boot
also acts as a plenum with the AFM mounted at the front
of it. It's just like converting single TB to individual TBs.
Individual TBs will always response faster simply because
the TBs are mounted behind the pleneum chamber where
the chamber is always filled with air wherelse when running
single TB, the chamber is under partial vacuum until you
slam the TB open where air will start to fill the chamber.

Thanks for the info Chen!

Hey, I have the Huntley MAF also. Just not installed yet.

How do you like it? Easy to install?

What is your tuning device?

Hi Toddk,
Install is pretty straight forward. It works great with light
mods. With my recent turbo & injector upgrade, I feel that
the resolution of the ARC II is no enough but on the other
hand if the chips are mapped spot on than the need for
messaging the signal is minimised. Are you using a stage
4 MAF ? I've heard of running issues with the stage 4. Reason
being that the Maf sensor bore is too large which causes
inaccurate sensor readings.

Excellent.

No, it's stage 3 with the IAT attached.

I will have chips for it specifically so that is good to hear the ARC2 will still be ok asI know it's tuning capabilities are very limited.

You know it does... or are you implying that your 60-1 HIFI would spool the same without the Link/MAP
Duke,

I am not fighting at all. All I said was I dont see how it does. Then someone said it does but didnt say how... so I said I dont see how it does again. I had the computer BEFORE I got the turbo, so I cant compare from experience, so I cant comment on it with confidence, hence why I asked.

Pressure ratio dude. MAP intake( in front of the turbo) - 1bar in and 2 bar out (if you're running 15 psi) for a 1bar net increase.

AFM intake - .8bar(a guess) in and 2 bar out for a 1.2 bar net increase at 15 psi.
