Hey ALpine!! Ouch!!

I actually spent the winter of 94 in western Mass, Ft. Devens. Had 121 inches of snow that year.

I was actually washing and waxing my car this weekend with shorts and no t shirt

Although we have been in the 30's numerous times this year.

I will get to in the next couple of weeks probably. After Rolex.
So your current setup is:

AFM
LR Turbo
GURU WG
GURU Chips

hmmm.......i have a feeling something is terribly wrong somewhere......

A note, when you get 'new' chips, you do know that they are tuned for the AFM. After installing the MAF, you would need MAF chips to "set it right"......

Anyways, i know a couple of people running the LR S75 getting full spool (1bar) @ ~3,300 or so, but they have a MAF installed.......so i guess that makes sense with regards to you're 'late' spool.........

How so?

I hope so. And I will have chips that are a little leaner down low to help spool up.

Also Hos, yo unever told me exactly how to test when full boost is coming on and in what gear ?

How is a MAF going to reduce spool by a few hundred rpm?

Simple, you cannot have chips burned for you and set 'right' because of the 'mystery' turbo, and now you installed a different turbocharger, thus the chips are not tuned for it......

Setting the boost should be done on 4th gear, used 3rd and 4th to see when 1bar comes around (at least that is what i understood by a few rennlister's who informed me on this one)

Installing a MAF or a MAP removes that AFM 'barn door' which creates restriction. Installing just a MAF or a MAP system reduces spool by a few hundered rpms even on a stock car. If you get spool @ say 3,500rpm on an AFM, then expect spool to drop to 3,000-3,300rpm with either MAF or MAP intakes.........

does anyone have dyno charts showing showing spoolup before and after AFM->MAF/MAP

AMAF can push you to 3200 rpm with his skinny leggs and then your turbo will take over from there.

The barn door can flow I think enough air for around 400HP. I still dont see how a MAF reduces spool.

Hosrom, do you have evidence of a reduced few hundred rpm in spool after MAF install?

It's true; MAF reduces spool up. With a low restiction intake before the turbo, the compressor "grabs" the air easier.

NZ,
the stock AFM can't flow enough for 400 hp. Well it can, but very inefficiently, too much pressure drop between the barn door and the compressor inlet.

My spool up dropped several hundred rpm after my maf but, to be fair I also had exhaust installed and the car retuned so that prolly had something to do with it to. Maf will reduce spool up the question is how much?

Before my mods and 13psi was like 3650 or so after was like 3250. Ofcourse then I dialed it up I was getting like 16 at 3500 and 18-19 at 3800. Although I believe I was in 3rd gear not 4th....in 4th the times would be dropped some...how much exactly again I dont know for sure. I will do a test of my 26 tomorrow in spool up differencies between 3rd and 4th and see what I get.

Dude, Koklen pushed out 363wrhp, that is ~427fwhp using the stock AFM so i don't see why that coulnd't be done (don't push this thread OT))

First of all, i did not say that the MAF would reduce spool. I said both MAF AND MAP help reduce spool by replacing the stock AFM, why did you pick on MAF?? both systems are perfect replacement for measuring speed density and air flow.......

Both MAP and MAF vendors have proof of spool time dropping with their systems.........

MAF users (above) also gave their input on this with regards to MAF aiding in spool.............

Hosrum,
I hate to say this but please don't post any 'quotes" if
you yourself have no direct experience with it.
Regarding the Kokeln 363 kit. Someone here bought
the whole kit & did not even make 330 rwhp after
dyno tuning. So, please unless you've seen it or have
done it, dont speculate.

Talk about OT.........

Heads up: That 'someone' didn't get the power that Koklen mentioned may/may not had the cam that should be also purchased? aka songzz?

Never the less, in your own words:

Did you experience it to give that kind of comment???

IIRC: I didn't "speculate" anything.........
