Todd, great to hear she's running again. Most aftermarket turbochargers require a bit of grinding on the inlet housing, right under the throttle body, so that the intake can sit down flush. My Kokeln had to, Jim's Vitesse had to and it's usually just one bolt hole on the housing. It will bolt in directly to the mount but the water pipe has to be bent, temp sensor housing may have to be adjusted out some with a coupling,,etc, etc.

Get that MAF, injectors, and Mafterburner(do you have the Power Perfect?) get her tuned and you will be surprised what 15psi does. Have fun at Rolex 24!

Full boost @ 3600-3800 is NOT "bad" IMO for a turbo capable of pretty sizeable cfm. Are there turbos that spool up quicker? Yes. How much quicker (delivering the same cfm and efficiency)and at what cost? I'm sure it's great to have the car together and pulling hard to redline.

Yeah it is certainly good to hear its running, it was a long road working out the issues with the old Super 61! Ski is right, most do require some very minor modifications to fit, though my SFR didnt. I bet you will have some fun tuning it up! A WB unit must be on the shopping cart soon!

"So, there is a problem somewhere........did you tune/dial in the a/f ratios?"

Well, maybe on the old turbo, but not the new one.

Did you get your chips remapped? Did you retune it for the new turbo? (please say yes).

yea, Ski, I will definately get to the MAF/Injectors. Now I only have the ARC2 for now. Will get me going, then upgrade later to SMT6 or something.

Budget is a little tight right now

I would gather the MAF will help spool up a good bit.

Todd,

I imagine some AF work if not done will help spool it up as well. Often tuners run it a litte lean in the low rpm to generate hot exhaust gases which spool the turbo a little quicker. If you want to get spool down, that may be an option to look at. Todd, I am not bashing you or your turbo... I hope at least you understand that!

Russ, what are you doing for boost control? Looks like a bit of a 2 psi spike there if I read the graph correctly...

A really nice dual-port wastegate (Turbosmart 45mm w/V-band clamps) with a really wimpy spring (7psi). Using the "black ****" MBC. The 14 psi spring is enroute as we speak. Should help spool up a bunch.

Starting today, every new Vitesse turbo will have the compressor housing modified so you don't have to grind it. Also, we will include the fittings to simplify the water pipe install.

I know that WG, its Aussie stuff has a great name here. I run a 1 bar sprinf myself... I figure the spring rate should be the lowest you ever expect to run.
