I have a catco cat that I have had made so that it can slip into place. I have not had it in yet, so I don't know how much it helps with the smell and power loss. I know once I ditched the stock cat it is an incredible improvement. Anyways, hope this helps. Check e-bay for a 3" catco cat. There was a guy that had a hundred of them and they where $35.
