Not sure if this needs to be said, but painting the hats is definitely a good idea. I didn't on the new Zimmerman rotors I put on in October and they're already rusting nicely. I haven't even driven the car in the rain -- this is from the condensation that formed after the car was outside for all of two evenings in the last three months.
