Hi 9fifty,
You're not being stupid. The .70 AR that you're seeing
only refers to the cold side. I was asking about the AR
on the hot side. Incase you're not aware, hot sides do
have AR as well just like KKK #6,8 or 10 hot housing.

Hi Chris,
Are we looking at a GT3040 or 3540. Man if it's a GT3540,
that monster can make 600bhp.

The GT35R has a gt40 compressor wheel in it. Excellent choice.

Very nice Chris.
Now that's a turbo setup that can make some crazy power.....

What did you do to mount the turbo on the engine mount?

Since I am back on line now – lets see….

“So, you are still testing the kits? would you be kind enough to mention what these kits would include, power ranges, prices, availablity and so on”

I am still developing it and quite frankly I don’t think too many folks will want to go that far. The engine is a 3.1liter (106mm bore) 16v with custom fabricated individual throttle bodies. That’s how it will be tuned so the info developed won’t apply to much else!! Of course if somebody is interested I would be happy to make more…

“I didnt know Tim had down a 3" x-over”

Nope, the down pipe (exhaust) is 3” the cross over is standard diameter (increasing the crossover pipe diameter would be a bad thing).

“Hi Chris,
Are we looking at a GT3040 or 3540. Man if it's a GT3540,
that monster can make 600bhp”

GT35R…at big boost 600hp is a possibility – but then you would be into a lot of other problems regarding block stability, crank girdle lifting (not side to side but actually lifting off the block). The real goal is, believe it or not, a detune to 500hp.

“What did you do to mount the turbo on the engine mount?”

Velcro. Easy to remove that way!
Actually, it has a spacer welded to the center section that is drilled and tapped to fit the standard mounting pattern. If you are fabricating just about everything it suddenly makes it easier to fit things. Since SFR was making up the down pipe and cross over I was not constrained to having the turbo in exactly the same location as stock - a little bit of fudging around was OK. Also – with the custom intake I don’t have to worry about the compressor side hitting the stock manifold.

Chris White

PS - I am looking for an S2 intake manifold - any tips on locating one? Free rides at Watkins Glen for anybody that finds me a deal!

Chris,
Is the center section mounted on an angle from normal?
It looks like that in the picture.
And it looks like its only oil cooled is that right?

Welding the center is a good idea. I wanted to do it to my car when i did my setup. But i did want to have to send the turbo to be stripped. Since you can't weld it will the bearing in it.
