Default Since I bought the turbo Cup car I've had this speedo problem..

It kept running out and just stopped at 270 km/h even if the car kept accelerating.

So I got myselft one of these, will install it soon.

It's a converted 951 speedo recalibrated to show correct values on the 959 speedo face.

Blingbling..

I picked up the pieces and got it made by a speedo shop. I could probably get more done if there is interest.

Nice with 12km on the clock!

Would be nice to see a white alternative. How much was the work?

It was a bit over USD200 for the work and 959 face.

Going with the pack
is quite monotonous.

Haha, I need higher gearing for that..

But I should be able to reach 306 or so real km/h.. I wonder how much error margin there will be.

So for $200 you could get me one of those, completely plug-and-play?
It's a direct fit and no need for additional calibration?
Is it difficult to install?

No, the conversion work was roughly 200 (don't have the receipt) and I had picked up a speedo before, the speedo was 110 or so..

I had it done when I was in SF a couple of weeks ago, but getting one more done should be doable. I need to track down another 959 face plate though..

I haven't installed it yet, but according to Clarks garage it should be pretty much plug and play. No modification as it seems.

And the calibration is already done, that's where the 12 km's come from.

Now how the heck do you track down a 959 speedo face?
I guess attaching it to the std 951 speedo and recalibrating could be done by any speedo shop.

I don't think that is a problem, it would be easy for me to call up the guy where I got this one and have him find another one for you.

Anders, are you planning to put your car's proper kilo's on the odo? I've heard that can goof stuff up with titles and values and crap here in the States.

So, 306kph is 190mph. I had no idea that Turbo Cups were THAT much faster than stock. SHEESH! For the record, 306kph translates to Mach .25; one fourth the speed of sound!

I'll document the ODO reading with pictures and keep the old speedo, it is a piece of the car. I am in Sweden and it is not illegal to change to ODO. Trying to sell a car with false ODO reading and not providing documentation is however illegal.

Gearing is the same on the Cup cars as the 951's, I have a slightly raised rev limiter on my chips though.
