Looking good Hally... tell Peter at Tech Edge to find my 2CO units if you see him! He is not replying to my emails for whatever reason.

Andrew with the 2C0, when they say
we had to leave all the 2A0 logging features out
i'm assuming that would be just the internal logging capability, ie it still logs to a laptop / palm pilot?
PS i don't live anywhere near Canberra! Peter is probably at the beach somewhere like half of Aus.

Yes just the internal datalogging. I am going to log and tune off the Link. The Tech Edge fits perfectly voltage wise with the LEM5 so it inputs directly.

Yeah I should be on the beacj in the Gold Coast if I didnt get this damn blood infection! Oh well, more time spent on my car, just modded the stock panel to fit all my electrical goodies in the passenger footwell.

Bengt, thanks for all the info, i'll try part throttle tuning without the o2 sensor plugged in next.
I also thought you could do that since there are a voltage divider that supplies 0.5v to the Lambda input when you disconnect the sensor. It seems though that the DME still tries do run closed loop. You should be able to go open loop with the impedance adapter.

But when you use the adapter you are running different maps also.
By disconnecting the O2 sensor, you are still running the USA maps, they
are just not being adjusted. According to TT, its best to have the PT maps on the rich side because the programming is better at pulling fuel down.

I'm not sure if the impedance adapter changes maps. If it does it still would not be a problem. If you are burning your own chips then just make all three maps identical. If I understood correctly what TT said in the thread above, pulling the O2 sensor puts the DME in a position where it tries to correct lambda but doesn't get any feedback, thus ending up maxing out the correction in a direction (rich or lean) that we don't know.

I have done it in both ways ( on different cars) and didn't experience any problem either with disconnecting sensor or adding the adapter. On my own car I have a switch for the adapter so that I can switch lambda control off and on. I also have all fuel maps identical.

The impedance adapter is also used in map selection, but its main purpose is to disable closed loop if installed.

Anyone know what manual offsets to use in the Motronic editor for the 24-pin (2732) DME chip ? The "951 Original" setting in the editor doesn't seem to work for the 24-pin chip.

Here you go,

http://members.rennlist.com/rob/944%...%20Map%201.spc

http://members.rennlist.com/rob/944%...%20Map%202.spc

http://members.rennlist.com/rob/944%...%20Map%203.spc

You need to save them as a .spc file for the Motronic Editor.

Have fun,

Thanks Rob and Andy for the .spc files. Very interesting. I've pulled the contents of my stock DME chips it works fine.
