It'd be great from anyone other than German Auto Dismantlers. 50/50 chance of ever seeing the parts or your money again if you send them a dime. They're by far one of the worst vendors for Porsche parts in the nation, if not the world. I'd avoid like the plague.

you can always pay by credit card and then get a refund if you don't get the parts and let the credit companies deal with the fraud.
other than that, is the swap worthwhile? what all are the differences in the computers?

Ask Z-man (I think it was Z-man, it was one of the mods on the Pelican board) about his experiences with them. He got screwed out of several grand worth of parts from them; I got hosed for $600 plus shipping (they "tacked on" $150 worth of shipping for two seats AFTER telling me that the $600 included shipping one time and that it should be "no more than $100" another time), I had to wait close to three months for seats that were billed as "reconditioned", yet were little more than crappy, junk, rusted-out frames with crumbling pads & new vinyl slapped on them - which tore FOUR DAYS after putting them in the car. They then of course ignored my calls and e-mails for the better part of a month until I threatened them with a lawsuit. They suck. Avoid. Trust me. You got lucky.

I dont see how that would be an upgrade. Its mapped for Turbo S cars, so a different turbo than the 86s... Putting that in there would make for oddball fuel ratios and minimal performance gains.

Putting a TurboS DME in an 86 will start the car, but run very rough.
Don't believe that BS.
Somethings telling me this'll hit $400 easy, save it for another turbo.

Yeah, forget it. First of all, the mapping is way off for the different turbo.
Second, that place has a salesman who claims to have raced one of the GTO cars back in the 80's. Then he told me that the S tranny was just as good as an S2 tranny, and that he didn't even have to tell ME that it was different.
I asked him if he thought he was talking to some stupid kid - then it was no sir.
My point is that I believe he is the scab that is writing these ridiculous ebay adds for these turkeys.

Bengt - is your point that it doesn't matter???
Look at the full throttle - they gave more fuel at the top for the 8.
I have tuned for the 8 and the 6 EXTENSIVELY, and to get power, there is a BIG difference.
