I forgot we have winter here and it is about 5 to 7 degree in my garage and the oil is not very thin..
I use Castrol oil 10W 40 for the first time to break in the engine.

If everything is ok, you'll get 5 bar as soon as the engine fires and runs itself, it'll take 1 or 2 seconds at most.

Just did a quick test, I pulled the DME relay and cranked the engine for 10 seconds. The oil pressure jumped up to 4 bars in around 8 seconds, but it is 5C outside. Did you check the crank pulleys to make sure it is seated correctly (doesn't wobble)? Several people had oil pressure problems because of this, the oil pump is friction driven.

I would put the plugs back in (and the filter too) and fire it up. The oil pressure should go up to 5 bar cold. 1 bar is enough to run an engine with any risk of damage.

If it always takes more than a second for the pressure to come up then you have an air leak somewhere on the suction side of the pump.

Hello
now i need some SERIOUS help
The engine is running. It fired up after 5 sec and after another 5 sec (sudendly) it run very smooth.
the problem still exists. I let it run 4 times 15 sec each time at idle. The oil pressure is only 1.5 bar. It build up about 2 sec after the engine starts.
I put lightly the gas pedal and went to 3000 rpm for one second but still the same not more pressure than 1,5 bar.
I checked the Oil pressure sender. The wire are connected properly. I disconnected and got over 5 bar.
I disconnected only the "G" The one with the "cable shoe" and let the WK (the round connector) connected. It made no difference it shows exactly the same thing.
what is the G wire with the even cable connection for?

Oil is coming out of the oil filter threaded pipe. I got at least 1 liter oil on the floor. I was alone so I couldn't see it before

Konstantin
(just want to see this engine running)
PS: I checked the crank bolt and washer and they are tight and the washer is bolted the right way

What sealant did you use on the oil pump? You might want to get a mechanical oil pressure gauge to confirm your electrical readout.

I didn't disassemled the oil pump. I used the one that came with the engine block.
Can I just take tehz old oir pressure sender out and put another one?
Should I drain the oil before?
what about the pressure valve in the oil filter housing? maybe it is stucked???
what else before I take the head out but I use the newer OPRV and it seemed ok I also used a new O ring.
anyway to check the OPRV?

Konstantin

I found this page for VDO oil pressure senders

My stupid questions.. were did this engine come from? What did you do to it? Did it develop oil pressure before you got it?

Maybe it's me but it sounds that you maybe having some pump issues?

Could there be air in the pump? could that be causing this?

Kons,
Is the Castrol 10W40 synthectic base ? If so change it to mineral base.

Konstantin,

If you pull the OPRV, check to make sure that the hole that it sits in is straight. If you installed the oil filter housing without the OPRV/factory tool installed, it could be off a bit and causing the tip of the OPRV to bend/bind up a bit. With 1 bar at idle I seriously doubt you could have lower end (bearing) issues. You would have to have a ton of clearance to drop almost 4 bar. Did you inspect the pick-up tube for cracks/blockage when you assembled the motor?

Your sending unit appears to be working as it should (open=max, short=min). Since you're getting flow but no pressure it almost seems that the motor is having either a hard time picking the oil up or there is some slipping on the collar. I once installed the crank gear backwards and got plenty of volume (all over the floor when I pulled the filter) but next to no pressure.

I know it's a pain but I would check everything twice as it's probably something simple and overlooked.

hello
Problem is solved !!!
After I replaced the OPRV the oil filter and checked and messured the Oil pressure sender which showed ok, I decided to change the oil pressure sender with the one of my old 2.5L engine which I was sure it worked before.
After I replaced it I started the engine within 2 sec I had 4.5 bar Pressure!!!
So it was just tghe stupid sender. It seemed to be ok But I guess it was cloged and showed only 1.5 bar instead 4.5 bar

Now I will put the Control armas and the rest back on the car and go for a test with my new 3 L Turbo engine.
Unfortunately we got snow today and we have only 2 Degree outside

Konstantin
PS thanks to all who helped me
