Default Georgia Mtn Drive Saturday Dec 18th

Hi all - there are about 7-10 of us that do drives up in the GA mountains about 3-4x a year and we've got another drive coming up on Saturday Dec 18th. We've really spread the word this time so we're hoping to get a Large turnout. so far about 10-12 new people are going to be there and we'd like to add plenty more. we meet between 7:30-7:45am in the Starbuck's parking lot off of Mansell Rd just east of GA 400. We leave by 8am and head up GA 400 till near the end then veer off for the mountains. there are some pretty incredible roads up there that really can test your car. our last drive in sept the roads were WIDE open because we left early (like this time) and had them all to ourselves. Anyway, we are usually in back in Atlanta proper by noon to get back to our families. sometimes a few stick together for lunch and go to Helen but that just depends whose up for it.

even if you can't make it for the drive, just come to the parking lot for the sendoff so that we may all meet and hopefully plan another in the new year.

let me know if any of you are interested.

Weather permitting I'm sure the 930 would love to get exercised a bit

Thanks

one of my friends/colleague has a thing for 944's - he currently has a chipped 944 turbo that he is planning on bringing out for this run. he's buying new tires just for this little shindig so i'm sure he and others will be ogleing your ride

look forward to it

Thank you Frank. Hard to believe, but my 930 is stock, I only drive it few 100 miles a year. My plan is to install the 3.2 Carrera intake and Motronic system on it to replace the CIS. Of course the Turbo might get massaged a bit..

Is this a "Porsche only" drive? I've got a friend with a 318is modded some with sweet suspension.. It'd be neat to see those koni yellows and eibach progressive springs in action for once =D

one of my colleagues is on the dark side and drives a new M3. he's been begging to come on a drive so we'd figure we'd let him this time your BMW friend is welcome as long as he doesn't team up with my buddy and start trash talking!

For clarification's sake, is this the one at Mansell and Alpharetta Highway (hwy 9) or a different one by the mall?

Going with the pack
is quite monotonous.

head up 400N form Atlanta and exit Mansell Rd. Turn Right onto Mansell then take the first Left at the light. there will be a strip center on your right now so turn into it and the starbucks will be on the left - should see a grouping of some FINE cars!

see you there Brad

I have (another) friend who is thinking about buying a 951 in Charlotte, NC, and perhaps this weekend. I was wondering what the route was that we'd be taking, and if it might make sense that my friend and I would just break off from the pack at a certain point. Thanks in advance
