What should I look for when buying a K27?
Thinking about doing a K27/6 on my car. Is this turbo specific to Porsche only? I have seen some turbo's advertised as a K27 with no mention about Porsche. Does this mean it mounts up to other cars, like chevy's? Here are some numbers off an example 5327 970 7118, EI 5044353, 00045, K27, 2-906-414299.

I am thinking about a K27 as well, as I am looking for bolt on compatibility.
I heard that majestic turbo and Mighigan turbo might be able to convert a k26#6
I am curious to hear what others have to say.
I just got back from central Mass monday and there is salt on the roads allready, looks like all of the Porsches are put away for the winter, only one P car sighting on 495 (996 coupe doing about 95)

I'm running a 27/8. I progressed from a stock 26/6 to a Huntly Cheater 26/8, and now to the 7200 K27/8.
A few tips.
-The 930 K27/8 is oil cooled only.
-The 7200 compressor is best matched with the #8 housing.
-For bolt on, a K26 center section is needed. A good turbo shop can smack on the K27 wheels, balance the unit, and attach the housings.
-You will need a short temp sensor. Many of the tuners can find the one you need. Some people need to bend the coolant pipe over the compressor housing, but mine ended up fitting just fine.
-You will need a new J-pipe to fit the larger compressor inlet. IIRC, it's 2.75".
I'm putting down 329hp/330tq at the wheels at 15psi. The only downside is the lag. It's dead till 2900 but builts pretty quick. 5psi at 3100, 16psi at 3500. I don't have much of a problem since I like to keep the revs up.
Enjoy!
