Default Wastegate stuck...any other ideas ?

Just starting having boost trouble. I've tried many different combinations to get it working, Lindsey boost controller installed, straight line from banjo to wastegate, blocked line to wastegate, etc. I just can't build over about 7psi of boost. I was building full boost a few days ago, just suddenly won't anymore. I'm guessing the (stock) wastegate is stuck, any other ideas ?

If you are certain that the vacuum lines are connected properly, the WG isn't the only cause. A dying turbocharger would also have low boost, along with a leak in the exhaust system, collapsed downpipe/testpipe wall.

To check the WG and othe rboost related problems:http://www.clarks-garage.com/951faq.htm#problems

Gotcha...but if we assume the wastegate is stuck open, what boost levels would I most likely see ? Stock wastegate mind you, and I assume not shimmed (although I haven't looked for myself). It looks to be around 7psi when it just stops making more boost, that sound about right ? I understand it could be the other stuff, I just want to know how it would act if the wastegat was stuck...

If the WG was stuck open, most likely you wouldn't see any boost and if you did see some (assumming it was partially cracked open) it would roll on very slowly. Have you tested your BOV, vacuum lines, or CV for cracks?

CV is removed, vacuum lines tested/replaced, diverter valve brand new (mouth tested).

Don't forget to also check the rubber piping and connections on the intercooler pipes. Take them right off and inspect carefully as sometimes cracks open up in hard to see spots.

Would a crack in a connection really cause me to lose half my boost though ? If it helps, my vacuum numbers seem to be normal from what I've read on here. I'm thinking its time for Tial.

Definetly. It could be sealing nicely until it you apply a certain amount of pressure and then open up. It's easy to check, all you need is a screwdriver.

If you want a tial wastegate, go for it. When my wastegate got stuck open it made 0 psi boost.
