I have not been on a Dynojet yet, so I don't know. Since I have a way to record a baseline, I can still use it to log increases, or decreases in power.

With all this logging I've been able to self tune my car to 330hp/329tq at 15psi from a K27/8. It runs pretty clean, but some chips with better timing will help. I have pretty high exhaust temps as well. I stopped modding once I started looking into my temps.
EGT temps?

This may sound stupid but in a case of really hot and humid weather (where i am in summer) wouldn't a larger IC technically help?

I was looking at the SFR IC and they have come up with a mount to move their IC in front of the ac condensor so they have more room and are coming out with a oil cooler to be put where the IC was. It looks like a pretty good setup you should check it out.

This is mine. Never had moore than 10 degrees C over ambient temperature at boost up to 25 psi.

A better makes more power all over the "powerband". It also will stretch the turbo´s limit because a better "pressure drop". I think like Tomas L. Most of us should change to a better one earlier in their tuning and maybe having a bit smaller turbo so the powerband/response with the same hp will be as wide as possible. Then your car will be fast.

Corleone - I would like to know if your radiator is behind that ic, and if you have ever run 20 minute plus track sessions with it. Thanks

At a power level of 400 hp, the IC dumps around 40 hp worth of heat to the cooling air. This would equal the heat added by a 100 hp engine power raise. Does a 500 hp engine with stock IC have cooling problems?
I guess it all depends on the conditions. On a slow track in Dubai in the summer I'm sure you will have problems, on a cold Swedish day and on a faster track I'm sure you won't. Where is the limit?

Good point special tool that big IC in front of AC, and rad. lot of hot air getting to the rad.

Bigger rad would solve that?

Would not water injection lower intake temp. then just keep stock IC?

Corleone - where is your oil cooler? That is a setup similar to what I am thinking but I need to place an oil cooler up there somewhere.

Yes, my radiator is at stock place behind the IC.

No, I have not yet done any track sessions, the car wasn´t ready to the track season.

I can´t so far see any difference in engine temperature between my earlier stock IC and my new one.

My oil cooler is at stock place. Its a 968 one wich is a little bigger and better than stock.

The Road Dyno I have records inductive impulses just like a timing light. Because we know the distance the car can move from ignition pulse to ignition pulse, we can count them up and find out how far, and how fast we go. It's a slick little tool.

Honestly, i dont think you need a larger intercooler unless your car is running hot. Running more boost would create more heat but, if it still isnt passing the ability of the stock intercooler, why change? Also, if you do up to a larger one without the latter being true, it will not be running at full potential and it would be wasted. Plus, these cars, from what ive heard, run on a very narrow temp range. And, personally id rather be running a little hot than a little cold.

You're confusing intake air temp with engine cooling temp. Cooler is indeed better when talking about intake air temp.

thanks for everybody opinion. I know that Tim does have a dynojet chart on his website showing that the intercooler did increase horsepower, So going back to my original question can I run more boost?

Is 27+psi not enough for you? I have heard of guys running that much on a 951 with water... I think you need to qualify what you are trying to do. I run 20psi...
