Calling Huntley Stage III MAF users

Make it after 1600, I will be gone by then.
For those of you who dont know, it is incredible to have people come over and help on your car, it really helps motivate.

i have personally dyno'd at 288/306tq. that was BEFORE the addition of the test pipe. i'm VERY interested in switching from my current chips (ape - see sig) to vitesse and was wondering how much hp i might pick up.....

I wouldn't go into details of the advantages of doing the signal recognition on the chip, it has been discussed plenty. Perhaps people that switched the AFM chips to use Vitesse MAF chips with their aftermarket MAF would share their experiences...
We use the SMT6 for fine tuning purposes not to convert the MAF signal to look like an AFM..

However, in the interest of science and HP, I will order a set of Vitesse's MAF chips (for use with my ARC2, for now anyway), and report back. I need to travel later this week, so it will take me about two weeks to install and attempt to dial in the chips, but I will report back as events warrant.
As for the original question, I made just over 300 rwhp on a dynojet at 17psi on 92 octane pump gas with the stage 3 MAF (and HR turbo) and 350rwhp on 100 octane at 22psi with a stage 4 MAF. I left HP on the table both times, given my a/f ratio.

Special Tool: It's people like you that start making threads go off the subject so you could earn a few points.
That why John D. came in and and moved/closed two previous threads, due to the 'fights' that were made and the whole thread went off the subject.
And as John D. said, if you want to say something personal, you'd do it offline, get your head straight, stop acting smart and do the same!

Hi Tom,
Are you saying that you made 350 rwhp
after switching to Stage 4 maf ?
Would it not produce the same hp with
stage 3 maf running at the same boost
level ? My impression was that the stage
3 can support those numbers.

I have used a pro m 75mm maf and a arc2 to tune 322 rwhp and 340 rwt on pump gas. The arc2 by split second converts the maf to afm signal so the dme can read it. They claim that the 75 mm is good for 400 rwhp. The maf has a hot wire. When air passes over it, it cools down giving a resistance valve to the arc2 witch then converts the signal to correspond to the equivalent of the afm. In between you can massage the signal in 3 zones. With the newer ps model you get 200 or so maps and it's laptop programable. The next step up would be a 85 mm maf.
John from vitesse claims to use a different approach. He programs a dme chip to the maf signal than massages the maf signal for fine tuning with the power perfect. There is always more than one way to skin a cat.

I have been using the Huntley Stage 3 MAF for about 3 years and have good luck with it so far. The only thing that bugs me is the partial throttle maps dont seem to be tuned all that well probably due to the chips that came with the kit. Otherwise the car definitely makes good RELIABLE power.
