Ok, to sweeten up this deal a bit, I'm offering a complete GURU chip-upgrade kit at 50% off to whoever buys this turbo. I'll include extra parts to hook up the stock rubber J-boot to this turbo without any hacking or cutting needed. The chips will work with stock AFM and be good for 280rwhp @ 18psi with this turbo.

Danno, how do you know which turbo Ed has? How can you burn a chip without knowing the FULL characteristics of the turbo? FYI it's easy to measure the turbo wheels to figure out what the turbo started at, but many mods were made since...

FYI. The turbo being sold here is different that the turbo in the kit that someone sent you my chips for...

Danno,

I'm sure you're just trying to help Ed out but @ 18 psi you're about 50 HP short of where these turbo's will perform. You're aware this is a Vitesse stage 2 and not a 26/8 I hope?

Any buyer of this turbo should let the expert who designed this turbo make the chips for it otherwise you'll never see the full potential.

Uh, that's with the AFM in place.

Jeremy: 50hp short with the AFM??? thus 280+50= 330whp with AFM @18psi????

The AFM is not the correct setup for this turbo, it will restrict it!!!! The AFM or MAF are nothing but measuring devices.. The turbo with Vitesse chips & MAF should be anywhere from 310-325rwhp at 15psi boost... If you plan on using the AFM, this may not be the turbo for you...

I guess the point of my post was why would anyone in their right mind spend this kind of money on a turbo for only to receive 26/8 performance? It would be the dumbest think I ever heard. 26/8's @ that boost with the AFM installed and Guru chips see 275 RWHP and 295 RWTQ. The offer, while kind, severely undershoots the potential/intent of the turbo and that kind of performance can be had with a #8 for 25% of the cost off of e-bay.......

Ed, see all the trouble you are causing? Now go install that turbo with the chips it came with.

How hard would it be for someone to burn a chip for this turbo if they were at a dyno with a knowlegable chip programmer?

Or if someone had datalogging capabilities with their WB set up and sent recordings via email?

A turbo moves air - if the AFM is used it may hinder the total volume of air the turbo is able to deliver, but that's not saying it still won't deliver a greater volume than say a K26.

To say a "good" AFM chip couldn't be programmed for this turbo - I don't think so.

Who goes to a dyno with a chip burner? Guess I would if I could..hmm Also, not everyone has a wide band o2 w/data logging.

I'm not saying its impossible but, I agree with Jeremy, Best to have someone who knows the exact turbo to make the chip.

Hard to believe that does'nt make sense.

Danno has offered an option..

If you lived local to a chip progammer or had a WB w/ datalogging wouldn't you consider Danno's offer if it was more cost effective option.
