my car is still registered in iowa (front plate required) but its currently in FL (front plate not required)
i don't run it. never have. when i lived in iowa, i was actually pulled over (at least once - maybe more) without the plate, but he never noticed.
that smooooth front end just gets ruined with a plate out there....

I live in Iowa as well and never run a front plate. I have never seen a corvette with a front either. It seems to me that if the front looks like theres no place to put one on, then you wont get pulled over. I know that's horrible logic, but I have never been pulled over in this porsche or my previous car. I think if you don't attract attention to yourself, then you'll be ok.

The PO removed the front plates, so I just have a couple of holes in there -- because of that, I recently got a parking ticket. I just leave my plates in my windshield when I park now (and if I read CVC correctly, that's legal).
Another California 'lister found a rule in California that if your car does not have holes in your bumper and you are issued only one plate (ie asked for only one plate) then you are allowed to run only the rear plate. It's an obscure ruling, so I don't know how accurate that is.

Well, I believe this 'lister still gets frequent tickets, but just fights it everytime based on principles. I would probably get so sick and tired of fighting tickets that I'd rather just leave the plates on...

I had Dan fill the holes for the plate when he painted the car. I like it much better without the ugly plate. I'll take my chances without it.

Well I suppose you and the thread starter are talking about my post on another thread. For the record I don't get frequent ticket's. I haven't been pulled over in 17months. When I get a ticket that's what a lawyer is for. My record is completley clean and I gladly pay the court fees instead of having to do some bull**** drives ed thing or worse plead guilty and have it on my record for the next 4 years.
I have never run a front plate. When the car went in for a new paint job over a year ago I had a new front bumper put on and I told them not to even drill the holes for the mounting bracket. So my front bumper is smooth and clean. The time I did get pulled over and the cop didn't let me go...it wouldn't of mattered anyways. He was going to write as many ticket's as he could.
I choose to pay the ticket and not run a front plate. That's the worse thing you could do the the lovely front end of a 951. So I won't even have the holes for the bracket on my car ever much less the plate itself.

I'm in Colorado and we have to run them as well.
I really like the Euro plate, I wish there was somewhere I could buy a custom Euro plate that had the right plate # and even a background that looks like a standard Colorado plate. It'd look much better and I can't imagine getting a ticket when I have a plate on there that has all the right information on it. Anyone know of a source for such a thing?
