More than likely it will be a bundle price.. Don't have the final price, but it will be less expensive than purchasing a Standalone...

Its not exactly an apples with apples comparison though... nice to see the development of a basic kit though!

Let's say, it takes you as long as it takes to replace a chip in order to get full control of fuel & timing. 7 images loaded and can be selected by an external switch. The best part, it comes pre-programmed..
The initial batch is pretty much spoken for...
The price? Less than you can purchase a standalone
Installation? As simple as replacing a chip with our miniature board
Features? Fuel, Ignition, data logging...
When? As soon as the people who reserved the first batch pay for it, we will make a larger batch...
Similar in nature to this? www.dsmlink.com

Tim, would an EMS install for a 944 require replacing/modifying/installing all of the sensors described in SFR's TEC3 page? Or is the EMS flexible enough with sensor voltages and types?

Thanks.

It is pretty flexible when it comes to voltages and sensors. The big problem is the harness. However as adaptor harness can be made like someone described earlier in this thread.

Do AEM do a generic breakout harness to so you could make your own?

AEM makes a harness for the EMS model number 1010 with this sort of project in mind. $60 I think someone said on another forum for a plug into the ECU at one end and bare wires at the other.

Dark Lightning, sounds like you know a bit about AEM's stuff. Is the 1010 model have all the bells and whistles on it? Is there any place I can get more info specifically on the 1010, I tried the website but could not find it.
Thanks

Ok, saw your post on AEM forum. The one thing I am still not clear on is if the 1010 will work with the crank position sensor, I think ours are hall effect.

The 1010 box is the choice of custom installs evidently because (of all the AEM EMS units) it has the highest number of pins, therefore you get the maximum number of inputs/outputs.

As for the hall effect crank position sensor, I'm not sure either. I didn't do much research this weekend but I'll be doing some more today.

I'm pretty sure the RPM sensor is magnetic pick-up:

I posted over there and asked some questions. I understand the sensors to be hall effect. Anyway, I asked a bunch of questions on AEMs forum and assumed they are hall effect sensors. We'll see what turns up.

Hey, I'm over there too. As I understand it, all the AEM boxes are the same, except for the daughterboard, which is essentially the plug for the engine harness. The pins are there (all of them) as I understand, its just that each car uses them in different areas, and some don't use as many as the others....

I went to an AEM dealer today and inquired about the 1010 box. I found out it will run full sequential (fuel/ignition) off of just a crank trigger. The box can be configured as to what size trigger wheel is used.

The dealer I spoke to wasn't totally sure if there is a universal, unterminated harness available yet cause AEM typically sells plug and play boxes. After gathering all of the details, I am sure that an AEM system can be used on our cars.

The model 1050 U is another option available that has a wideband controller integrated into the box. It is the 1010 box with wideband control.

This is a very nice and capable system.
