Aligment specs for 951 w/18"wheels
Just finished installing 18" carrera wheels on my '51 and was wondering if anybody had a good handle of the proper aligment specs with the 18" wheels. I know that the wider the wheel/tire combo, the less camber is need. Is the info on the aligment specs for the 968 turbo available anywhere?
Thanks

I haven't seen the specs for the 968 turbo, and in theory 18" wheels are too much for a 951 (or so the factory says, many seem to get along with 18's just fine). There's a TSB for 17" wheels, and it says you need to increase caster. Searching for "wheel TSB" gives you several threads, such as this one: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ight=TSB+wheel
If you're willing to try things out, you could set the alignment like this. Feels pretty sporty and doesn't seem to wear out tires too fast... I've been running it for this summer, going to try more camber next year.
Front:
caster 3.0 degrees
camber -1.0 degrees
toe-in 0.0 degrees
Rear:
camber -1.0 degrees
toe-in 0.1 degrees total, 0.05 on each side.
There's a bit more camber than on the factory alignment, also more caster and less toe-in, end result is the car turns in more easily and feels a bit more planted. YMMV.

You can run OEM alignment with 18" wheels. It all depends on what you use your car for.
As long as you get it aligned you'll be fine. Then how much camber, what toe etc all is up to personal taste or purpose of the car.
