Unhappy Rumbling sound, when I pull out.

I know i seem to be posting a lot of New Threads on here, but I have another question. When ever I pull out, and turn the wheel at the same time, there is a like rumbling sound, like something is grabbing in the back. Someone told me it coud be the CV joint "slipping" Would this be it? When I am going on twisty roads also, it does it, but when I straighten the wheel it is fine. Only when the car is doing a sharp turn or pulling out and turning the wheel does it do it? Does anyone have any advice on what it could be?

What needs to be done about that? Like can you "repack" it, or does it need to be replaced?

Ya you can repack depending on what kind of shape they are in but you probably need to replace them if they are really old.

Does your car have LSD?

Is it a groaning sound? That could be power steering...likely just low on fluid.

It isnt really a growning sound, it is more like a "click click click" or sort of like gear teeth grabbing. I mean not a grinding sound, but like a notching. I know i'm not clear on what i'm saying, but it is more of a rumbling sound. How much am I looking at for new CV joints?

"click click click" Sounds exactly like a CV joint... Probley just repack them, but you might need to replace them. Check the boots as well when u look under there because if theres a tear in it dirt and all this cr@p will get in there and distroy you CV pretty fast. Good luck

Thanks a lot for the information, I'll go look at it after it stops raining. Boy is it cold in Bluefield, WV today, feels like winter...I DREAD WINTER TIME!!! But, the 951 gets stored at the airplane hanger here pretty soon so it is all good, and time to break out the front wheel drive 2001 taurus stationwagon...My dads old company car...It has 90,000 well kept miles..and it books for 8,101!!!! we got it for 2450, from the lease company, because they cant hardly give them away after the company has them, so ill use that when I dont want to drive the 951

Plus, winter is hard on them....I have never drove it in the snow, plus the city puts those fine gravels all over the roads, and it chips the hell out of the side part of the car....I just dont want to put the car through that!!!

OHH BY THE WAY, WHEN I HAVE THIS ON MY MIND.....the car never did start that clicking type sound, until I changed the transmission fluid to redline, then it starts up again...It isnt coming from the transmission though, but I just thought it was weird that it would do that right after I put the stuff in...???????

my car is making the same sound because it needs new cv joints, I just bought new axles from paragon to rectify the problem. I am doing left and right, the parts cost less than $400.

Sorry for the double post!
It was like $168 per axle check with paragon they were the lowest price by far and they did not charge a core.

When I bought the car it had a low speed rumble and the seller had an estimate for about $1000 for left and right axles, it looks to be an easy replacement except for the mounting hardware. The bolts are a torx type bolt, but not a proper torx bit. My axles even came with new mounting hardware.
