the 712 is not a good tire in my book. good value maybe. but not good overall. try the yokohama avs es-100 for a better tire for not that much more money, or if you have the means ($) the bridgestone s03 is still one of my favorite street tires...

edit: all season?!? it makes so much sense to get a second set of beater wheels with winter tires, something fun like the pilot alpen or as i prefer, the dunlop wintersports - think of it this way, all seasons are a compromise in ALL seasons, they suck compared to a snow tire and suck in the summer. couple that with the fact that you will get more than twice the life out of properly dedicated tires, well, it's a no-brainer imo.

iv gone on a back road corner doin about 65-70 and havent got my pilots to squeel or give out... and on the trip home from nebraska we went through the black hill mountians at about 90-100 mph around big wide corners with no give or squeel from the tires... i think they are worth the money if your looking for a great tire

My preference is for the Pilot SX because they grip so good. Have to pay to play but I look at it being the only thing connecting the car to the road. I have also had SO3s a 968 and they were great also. Whatever your budget is but if you spent lots of $$$ of everything else, why not.

pilot and s03 are in the same category. i felt the s03 was 'softer' & more progressive at the limit but i bet the pilot will last longer...

Pilot Sport 2's seem to take abuse very well. I've tracked my car quite a bit this summer and there's still like half of the tread left ... GY Eagle F1's wore down in less than half the time (had them last year).

Formerly Dunlop, Yoko, Goodyear, and Bridgestone. The Pilots blows them away. Down side is cost, they seem to wear quickly (particularly the rears - go figure?) and get loud at the end of their service life.. Regarding cost – the first time that you slam on your brakes and make a clean miss of that SOB they paid for themselves

Currently running Potenza RE050:s.Front:225/45/17" rear255/40/17". Amazed by the grip provided...beats GY F1:s by a mile. No signs of wearin' out after 9000km's of hard use and abuse.
