Pics are not the best but I was working late on it and needed to post it! Will get some day time pics with perspective soon... Now where to get a 931 bonnet scoop... ring ring hello, AIR

Not sure if a sccop would be over the top, I have the fender decal to go on now... its the black version.

Nice to see you back.

The 931 vents look great. I hope that the measurements and photos I gave you awhile back helped. The job looks professional. Are the lips rolled? Did you make little mounting tabs for the plastic vents? If so, are the tabs tigged on or glued on?

I'm thinking about doing this to my 951 header panel as well. I used to have 4 extra vents, but lost one somehow and now only have 3. Where did you buy yours from?

Thanks Michelle, I hope your work is going well...

Tif, yes the edges are rolled. Mounting tabs are made from the panel itself By the way your measurements were way off... not sure what the story was there.

That was the difference between a flat 931 panel and a larger curved 951 panel then.

Ooooo thats exactly what I want to do to mine too, down the road, vents and all. The Carrera GT hood scoop has been tempting me too, I think it looks a lot better than the NACA(?) scoop that people install.

Hi Andrew
Looks great!!!
I was going to do the same thing bought an extra header panel 5 months ago.
I called a couple shops around here and they told me it would cost a bundle
to have them hand rolled. They told me to look for a guy with a special tool
they use on custom hot rods ( I believe it was called a louvering tool??)
I was never able to find someone who did that work so I never pursued it after that..
Looks great
regards
Ed
ps please post a day time picture ...

NZ,
Looks very good. That is the only kind of venting I am considering putting in my header panel and it does look very good. On the intercooler sprayer, are you using the headlight washers to spray the intercooler? I can not tell from the pictures, the sprayer nozzle definetly looks different, but the hose looked similar. Would you mind giving us some more details on that and what you are using to trigger the sprayer? Thanks, looks good.

The IC sprayer has a VDO pump I got for $60. The duty cycle is controlled by the Link computer, it has a specific water sprayer controller that lets you determine the on off phase so the water can evaporate which actually cools the IC, opposed to the water itself.

very well done - especially the cutting/rolling of the vents!

have you considered ducting the hood in any way to allow all of the air being funnled in there to escape? i gotta to some more research but having seen Savino's car, well, it seems the way to go for reference, check out kokeln's web site for the orca / flipper cars.

I was thinking NACA or Carrera GT hood scoop. I think it will look the ****. I have a black turbo fender decal sitting here to put on also. Savino?

steve savino - rumored to have over 250000 into his 951 gt1-class car. stupid-fast vehicle for sure.

sorta like this:

(minus the huge roof-scoop). basically, air comes in the front, thru the IC, out the hood - the airflow over the hood (in theory) creating a bit of low pressure to pull out the air. NACA ducts iirc are mainly to funnel air into a space, not out of it. the hood scoop/duct on the 931 was to cool the header, and/or prevent heat-soak, wasn't it?
