Have just bought an 86 944 Turbo - excellent car but the near side tyre catches the arch when cornering hard. On investigation I found the ns control arm to be a different part number to the off side (ns 951.341.149.10, os 944.341.150.02) I suspect the 951... control arm is off a later car and longer than the 944... version. Is this likley to be the reason for the tyre catching the arch ?
Thanks

Yup, i bet you hav a problem there, it should be a 951 part number on an 86....i just replaced one. They changed the offset i believe after 86, i am guessing that involves the control arms, someone can probably explain it better than I.

Oh also your upper strut mounts may be collapsed and causing the tire to be closer to the wheel well on that side, but i would look into that control arm first.

I bet somebody has broken the bearing housing whilst changing hub bearing and panicked and bought an earlier 944 Arm thinking they were the same. Yours should be 951 coded.
I'll let somebody with PET give you a code number
