Default cam-sprocket cheesehead / tripple square

According to Clark's garage, the bit needed to remove the cheesehead to get the cam sprocket off is a 10mm cheesehead.

It looks like it's an 8mm.

Can someone verify for me whether it's an 8 or 10. I'm about to order a snap-on one, and want to get it right the first time.

TIA,
Ian

I think it is a 10mm if i remember right, but that is from memory. I would order a 6, 8 and a 10, because you will probably use them eventually. Pet shows it as a 10mm

For those wondering about the quality of the Lisle 12 point tools...the head of mine is now a little deformed after loosening the bolt flyguy is talking about. I didnt have any problems removing it, though.

It's torqued to 60-65Nm btw.

Good luck with it.

I just finished putting the front end of the 944 engine together a few days ago, so I can probably answer most of your questions.

I sent you a PM with my phone #.

You may want to save the effort and just get out your drill now. Those bolts are a pain.

Mine came off just fine with 2 people, one to put steady pressure on the wrench and the other to keep hammering the wrench's head in the direction pushing the bit into straight into the bolt. The constant pressure coupled with the repeated hammer shock blows got it out easily.
