I think you need an EBC to hold the boost, without a closing pressure signal the manifold pressure will push the wastegate open. Anyone with an EBC not able to hold boost to the red line?

How's the pressure differances between low and high gears with a MBC and a Tial?
With a MBC and stock WG I get really big boost differences which makes it nearly impossible to adjust good A/F ratios for all conditions. Either too rich or too lean.
A EBC is probably the only solution, but I'm wondering if this problem is less evident with a better wastegate.
