Or another alternative if the clutch is just too heavy fit a central release hydraulic release bearing with o/s pipework (thats what I did on my 650hp V12 Jag, and the secret part came from a Mercedes Van!). Alternatively fit a servo!

Hi Tommo,
The biggest surprise is that the paddle effort
is very smooth, only slightly heavier than stock.
It's the engagement that sucks.

IMHO, you should talk to Lindsey and work it out with them. It comes down to the defintion of "streetable". New clutch plus labour may be a stretch given the reality that there is probably someone using the Spec 3 clutch on the street. Mine is mainly a track car, but with a similar problem, I drove it until something broke, and then put in a new clutch. If it's intolerable , see if they'll give you a new clutch if you cover the labour, and both sides can chalk it up to experience. Or drive it for six months to see if you can live with it, with a promise that you'll get a deal on the next clutch. Or hire Judge Judy...

Hi Smokey,
It's been 3 days since I e-mail them. Haven't got a reply
yet. Will follow up soon & see if I can get an answer.
Thanks for the advice. BTW, I still don't agree that the
problem lies in the defination "streetable" why because
we are the unknowledgable party. The vendor on the other
hand is the knowlegable party and since they know their
products much better than us, it is their responsiblity to
find out more from the customer so as to supply the correct
item. Am I not correct Smokey ?

Yep, its amazing what you can do with access to a Tig Welder and a fully functioning machine shop! The one cavaet I would add is that I saw the clutch operation on a McLarren F1 Road Car (BMW V12) and saw how simple the idea was and how good the clutch is in operation. I can assure you most of the people who own and drive these do not have the build of Governer Arnie!
The main issue is achieving the correct clearance and being able to mount the unit square and central. Other than that it is standard fabrication.

Cheers
Tom

Vendor bashing is really over rated. It is the consumers responisiblity how he/she spends their $$.
Funny really, with their so-called "363 kit" + MAF + race fuel + freshly rebuilt 2.5 motor, new torque tube and bearings, at 18psi with consistent A/F Ratio (12.5:1) on a winter afternoon, I got 296rwhp on a dynojet. Someone from South East Asia with the exact used kit , got 270rwhp @ 18psi. Ski, I am surprise you got 336 because I heard down the grapevine you were making around 290.

Anyway, just be realistic comparison: 3.6L 6 cylinder Twin Turbo'ed motor with the 1996 techonology barely makes 350 at the wheels. How on earth can our 2.5 motor make 360 without running insane amount of boost? Unlike high boosting supras, our aluminium blocks are not as "high-boost friendly".

Vendor Bashing? Shouldn't vendors be aiming for 100% customer satisfactory? As for this particular vendor it's more like 50-50. Those who spend less makes up for the majority of the 50% happy customers.
