Old Thread I know... but it had the most similar answers to what I was searching for. I'm losing balance shafts and covers. My block is in the shop being cleaned and the balance shaft oil return holes welded shut. Is the best way to run oil to the turbo just to tap the oil feed hole in the block the same as the one that was on the balance shaft cover? Will the original line still fit or do I need some kind of custom hose, adapter or what?

TIA!

Tap the upper and lower oil feed holes for an 1/8" NPT fitting. Use the top one to feed the turbo and the lower one can either be plugged or used to mount a pressure sender for an auxiliary oil pressure gauge.

You can get a variety of options for the turbo oil feed line. I'm using a NPT to AN fitting with a -4 (I think) hose at the block and a similar set up at the turbo (Turbonetics KKK replica). I don't know what each turbo center housing has for a connection, so that may dictate what you end up doing.

Im on the same track, removing the BS.

My engine has a lightende flywheel, H-rods and Wiseco pistons.

Pistons and Rods is 259gram lighter each than stock.
Flywheel is 3kg lighter.

Its a street/track enigne.

What is your verdict?

Well I only have a couple track days on the engine mentioned above... all stock internals with a lightened flywheel, 4 puck clutch, vitessee turbo and maf etc. currently 270 rwhp. On the track I can’t tell much if any difference without the balance shafts and I’m hoping the lack of seals to leak based on its infrequent use will be a good thing.

17 years 150,000 miles, too many track days to count and no BS delete issues

I have run with and without, from my dynos there is no perceptible difference if anything I make a tad more HP with the balance shafts. I presently have them installed. Lindsey Racing has a balance shaft delete kit, if you decide to go that route.
