Default Alarm questions

My 86 951 has the alarm key hole in the rear 1/4 panel close to the drivers door handle. While having it painted I decided to have the cylinder removed and the hole covered up. Now the cylinder is just hanging inside the fender b/c when the painter tried to disconnect the wires it started going off and the car wouldn't start, I assume its linked to the ignition. I don't have a good idea how these things work, but can someone tell me how to disconnected it. Thanks.

You need to bridge the number 8 and 4 (IIRC) wires to disable the alarm. Then you can take the module out (black module with blue writing) and the key assembly that you just take out by removing the vent in the door cavity. A search will probably get the right terminals if I got it wrong.
