I know that there are two brown (ground) wires under the dash where the gauge cluser is, one near the hood cable and one in the rear between the tail lights. Where else can i find these grounds to clean out (funny gauge readings lately).
Also, i am thinking of using a tooth brush and some paint thinner to clean out them out. Is that ok? or is there anything else?

Just use emery cloth or a brass brush. Solvents won't really do anything but remove grease. Bright metal is the best condition. You can always paint a little dab of Glyptol on there once you tighten it up; keeps the moisture out very well.

Go to the rear of the car, open the hatch, lift the carpet and start cleaning.
An easy trick is to use an emery board or a small dremmel tool with a wire brush attachment.

Ground points:
1. Inside the battery box where the negative battery cable is bolted to the fire wall.
2. Rear of the engine on the bell housing near the oil filler and heater control valve.
3. Each frame rail behind and below the headlight buckets.
4. Rear cargo area under the carpet between the driver side tail light and the license plate well.
Also, clean the connections to the starter/solenoid (main tie point for the positive side of the electrical system) and the alternator.
To clean the connections on the chassis/bell housing use a small wire bursh. To clean the terminal lugs, dip them in some TarnX (available at WalMart), and then rinse with clean fresh water.
Apply either either dielectric grease, or battery terminal grease to the connections to prevent further oxidation.
